The Frustrating German Language

For almost five years now I have been struggling with learning German for fun. Yeah, I know, what kind of fun is that? Isn't German supposed to be the hardest language to pick up? Well, it is challenging, but for me it has some personal connection as two of my grandparents were German. Plus, I have some tenuous business connections to Germany through my career so it makes some practical sense to at least try to become crudely capable of conversing in it.

During my struggles to study it I have tried many methods to assist in the learning process. Most provided some tangible value, some, however, proved to be completely worthless. The pages in this section of my web site contain what I have found to be the better and poorer techniques for learning German. Many of these tips would also apply to learning any foreign language. In addition, I have created some summary pages of the harder areas to master, as a further aide to those who have struggled like me. The majority of these articles are targeted towards those who have already some basic knowledge of the subject. Please don't try to use these as a source for initial learning, or you will become very frustrated! Check out some of the other sites that are listed in the links section for web resources more appropriate for beginners.

This portion of peppyfool.com is a work-in-progress and I am planning to add more content as I have time to write up supplemental articles. Enjoy, or should I say viel Vergn?gen!
